Increased demand from communication and transportation sectors, driven as well by 5G infrastructure advancements will continue to create MLCC shortages and dramatically increased lead times well into 2021 and beyond.
Firstly, I trust everyone is taking the necessary safety precautions as determined by the WHO and your local governments. By applying the social distancing, and isolation guidelines set forth for non-essentials, we will be able to help contain these global outbreaks, which will allow all of us to get back to standard business operations as quickly and safety as possible.
Secondly, I am pleased to report that S-P International will be categorized as an essential service due to our supply chain functionality within numerous essential industries; most notably: medical, auto, military, telco, and energy. Therefore, we will continue to be able to support all our customers for the foreseeable future as long as we can maintain the health of our employees and the community, which will continue to be our number one priority.
Lastly, we have done our best to mitigate the lead time increases that we began to see at the start of the outbreak and before CNY. Although, we feel our current supply lines are strong, we will continue to be in close contact with our suppliers and will advise you of any trends we start to see coming down the supply lines.
Our thoughts are with you, your families, and your colleagues. Stay safe and take care of one another.
